I used to have horrible migraine headaches and constant pain in my shoulder. My posture was all messed up!
I actually struggled to stand upright. It took so much effort.
It was a kind of a wonderful fluke that I became interested in massage therapy over 30 years ago but after I took that first class from a Neuromuscular Massage Therapist, a master in pain relief, my eyes were opened.
My whole focus changed from stress relief to pain relief.
And my own pain and posture?
Well, I had a LOT of treatment for my pain issues from that same master (I wanted to know first hand how he would work and how it would feel).
Also, I took a LOT of training from that master--and some other brilliant masters of natural pain relief...and...I have no more shoulder pain or head pain (unless I sleep 'funny') and my posture issues from scoliosis are seriously under control.
In fact, I really cannot complain of aches or pain at all.
Now, as a long-time Neuromuscular Massage Therapist, I specialize in therapeutic massage for pain relief.
Not 'pain management,' but pain relief.
I also offer other cool stuff like retreats for women and pain relief coaching.
When we get to the root cause of your pain, you can have pain relief.
Sometimes there are a lot of layers to peel away (like I had) before you can feel really well but we will work together, one layer at a time.
And if you seek an amazing massage therapist for a peaceful getaway for an hour or two--a break from the hectic world--rather than for pain relief, you may have that, also.
Between my clients (I've provided well over 25,000 therapeutic sessions) and learning how to correct my own painful conditions--including scoliosis and migraine--as well as the excellent instruction of geniuses in the field of bodywork and natural pain relief, I’ve learned a lot!
And I have a lot to share.

Here is part of a conversation with my skilled colleague in Poland, Piotr Szczotka:
(It's a little long but gives you more info about me.)
"Yes, my friend, we started as massage therapists and bodyworkers over 25 years ago, working with people with clinical massage. As practitioners, but also trainers, along the way, also as authors and publishers."
"You taught me that almost everything in practice depends on our own commitment. Yes this is truth. After all these years, our work goes so far beyond understanding Massage Therapy or Bodyworker terms."
"We're working primarily with people, as HumanWorkers, and the methods are secondary." (Note: We don't do just a specific massage method--many techniques are blended into each bodywork session because each human is unique.)
"Touch is an element of our work, but also a tool of interpersonal communication. We also use professional massage, subtle movement, breathing, positive change of movement patterns, but also changing thinking. In fact always we did."
So, you see, it takes a lot of time and experience, training and teaching to get to the point of being a HumanWorker.
Piotr created this beautiful term, "HumanWorker," and it perfectly describes what he (in Poland) and I (in the USA) do for our clients.

Wondering what others have said? Here are just two:
Beth K., RN, thanked me for taking care of her while she was taking care of others.
Marilyn S., RN, is worried that when I stop working, the type of massage therapy I do will be lost.
