New Book By Trenton Massage Therapist
Trenton MI Massage Therapist Kathryn Merrow is the author of Head Pain Natural Relief: Discover Why You Get Headaches And Migraines And How To Make Them Stop!
This is a question that I asked on Facebook last week. The answer that I had in mind was 'clients.' But the answers that came from friends in and out of the massage profession were much more interesting. Only one said 'clients.' Here are their answers. 'Magic fingers.' 'Big heart.' 'Body mechanics.' 'A caring temperament and a love of healing.' And I agree; all of these are necessary and these answers are at the heart of a good massage therapist. Technical skills and knowledge of anatomy and physiology are very important but massage is not only a technical skill. When someone comes to a massage therapist they usually have needs on many levels. Clients may need quiet time to himself or herself, someone who accepts and cares for them regardless of their flaws, someone who will listen or interact. They may have pain and are hopeful of getting rid of it. They may feel stressed or anxious. Every massage therapist is different. We all have different skill levels, personalities, backgrounds and histories. We went to different schools, had different instructors and have different beliefs. Some of us had extensive advanced training and some don't. There are a ton of different techniques and disagreement even between massage practitioners about how they are provided. No wonder a client can be confused! So who's the best massage therapist for you? The one you feel comfortable with and who meets your needs whether they are a quiet time to yourself, getting rid of pain, discovering the cause of your pain or a vacation-in-an-hour. Oh, were you wondering why I asked my original question about what do massage therapists need? My answer is 'clients' because no clients, no business. And that's why I wrote How To Grow Your Massage Business to help my colleagues become better therapists and get and keep more clients. :) Signing off now from Trenton, Michigan, Your massage therapist, Kathryn Merrow.

Head Pain Natural Relief: Discover Why You Get Headaches & Migraines & How To Make Them Stop!4/11/2013 Trenton Michigan massage therapist Kathryn Merrow (that's me!) has written the first in a series of natural pain relief books. Head Pain Natural Relief is available in Kindle or Print formats at Amazon.com Here are a couple of the reviews and you can read more at Amazon: "As a physical therapist, I appreciate Kathryn Merrow's emphasis on the effects of posture on muscle strain and headaches. Physical therapists work on trigger points and frequently teach our clients to work on them, too. The pictures are very helpful in identifying TrPs, as well as the referred pain they can cause. The advice she gives readers to correct posture and work on trigger points are spot-on. If you suffer from frequent headaches, I highly recommend you read this book. The safe, all-natural remedies Kathryn Merrow offers are a great place to start. They may just save you a lot of money on medications or physical therapy! " "I really learned a lot from this book. I've been treated and told about several conditions that cause my headaches but none of them showed me specific muscle groups like this book does. I'm really excited t learn how to lengthen my muscles and get some real relief!" I enjoyed creating this book for all of my clients and readers who suffer from migraines and headaches. So many times I have had people walk in with a headache and walk out without it. Muscles are the primary cause of most head pain and if we just treat the muscles the way they would like to be treated, they can settle down and stop bugging you! I'd love to see you in my Trenton, Michigan, massage therapy office but if you can't get there, this book is the next best thing! |
